How to use your engagement photos

Engagement photos aren’t just for the wedding day. They’re a way to freeze this time in your life and who you are as a couple. I’ve done sessions all over Newcastle, Maitland, and Port Stephens, and it’s always amazing to see how couples use their images afterwards.

A lot of people use them for save-the-dates, it’s a simple way to show off your personalities and give guests a little look into your story. Others share them on social media or send them as announcements to family and friends. And honestly, they make lovely prints or framed photos. Some couples put them on walls at home, in a photo book, or even use them for table displays or custom favors on the wedding day.

What lingers after the moment can be seen and felt, the way he looked at her that day on the beach you can still see the love in his eyes.

The best part is there’s no right or wrong way to use them. They’re your photos, your memories, and a picture of your life right now. Whether you hang them up, share them with loved ones, or just keep them for yourselves, they’re a little time capsule you can look back on for years.

If you’re planning an engagement session, think about what you want from your photos. Do you want casual images for social’s, or something that will look amazing framed on your wall at home? Knowing that can help shape the session so the photos really work and feel like you both.

Engagement sessions are about connection, being present in the moment, and capturing how you both are naturally with each other. The photos are just the bonus, you get to have a record of this stage in your life, and that’s something you’ll always be able to look back on.
