3 Generations

This Mother’s Day I spent a late afternoon at Ray Lawler Reserve with a family I will remember for a long time. It was a mother, her child, and the child’s grandmother, three generations together full of connection and little gestures that say more than words ever could.

The mum was early in her second pregnancy and that added an extra layer to the session. Seeing her with her first child and knowing another was on the way made the moments between them feel quieter but heavier in a good way.

We walked around the common letting them interact naturally. There were hugs, hand holding, and genuine laughter. Nothing was posed or forced. The energy of the session came from them being themselves together.

Sharing genuine, meaningful moments together.

Family photography like this is about documenting real life: the love, the patience, the little quirks, and the connections that get passed down. From the grandmother’s calm presence to the mother’s protective gestures and the child’s curiosity, the photos are a record of who they are in this moment, nothing more, nothing less.

Mother’s Day is a reminder of family, and this session at Morpeth Common captured exactly that, three generations, one afternoon, real and unfiltered.
