I photograph a little bit of everything. Families, maternity, newborns, weddings, businesses, branding, events, automotive and music are all part of what I do. I have never really wanted to put myself into one specific category. I enjoy photographing different people, places and things, and I think that variety has become a pretty big part of my style as a photographer. I am based around Maitland and the Hunter Valley and photograph throughout Newcastle, Port Stephens and surrounding areas as well.

There are so many different places around Maitland and the Hunter Valley that work beautifully for photography. I am a natural light photographer and I love using the location around us rather than trying to make every session look the same.For some people that might mean a quiet garden. For someone else it might be an open field, a beach, their home or their business. I like choosing a location around the person and what we are actually photographing rather than just telling everyone to meet me at the same spot. That also means your photographs can feel a little more personal to you.

Family photographs do not have to mean getting everyone to stand in a line and smile at the camera .Actually, some of my favourite photographs are the ones where nobody is looking at me at all.The kids running around. A parent picking up their child. Everyone laughing because something completely unexpected happened. Those little moments that you probably would not think to photograph yourself. My family sessions are relaxed and guided, so you do not need to know how to pose before you arrive. I will give you direction when you need it, but I also want enough space for your family to just be themselves. Pregnancy is one of those parts of life that can feel like it is going incredibly slowly while somehow disappearing at the same time. Maternity photography is a chance to document that little chapter before everything changes I photograph maternity sessions around Maitland, Newcastle, Port Stephens and the Hunter Valley, using natural light and outdoor locations to create photographs that feel relaxed, natural and a little bit special. And you absolutely do not need to know how to pose. That is my job. I will gently guide you through your session so you know what to do without every photograph feeling overly posed. I also have a client wardrobe available for maternity sessions, with selected pieces you can use as part of your session. Newborn photography in Maitland

I do not have a studio, so my newborn sessions are either held in your home or outdoors at one of my selected garden locations. Home newborn sessions are a really lovely option for those early weeks because you do not have to pack up the baby, get everyone ready and try to get out the door on time. We can simply work with what you already have at home. And your house does not need to be perfect. I will look for the best light and the spaces that work well for photographs, while keeping the session relaxed around your baby and your family. These sessions are about all the little things that make this stage of life yours. Tiny fingers and toes, sleepy cuddles, siblings meeting their new baby and those quiet moments that you will probably wish you could remember forever. If you would rather be outdoors, I also offer garden newborn sessions at selected locations around Maitland and the Hunter Valley. There is no need to know how to pose or worry about getting everything right. I will guide you through it and work around your baby. Newborn session packages are available, along with access to my client wardrobe.

Wedding photography in Maitland and the Hunter Valley

Weddings are another part of my work that I absolutely love. Of course, I am there to photograph all of the big moments. The ceremony, the portraits, the speeches, the dancing and everything else you have spent months planning. But I am also watching everything happening around those moments. The nervous little glances before the ceremony. Your friends laughing in the background. Your grandparents watching from their seats. Someone trying very hard not to cry. Those are often the photographs that bring you straight back to the day. My approach to wedding photography is a mix of candid moments and gentle direction when it is needed. You do not have to spend your entire wedding day wondering what you are supposed to do with your hands. I will help with that part. I have never really been someone who wanted to photograph just one thing. Alongside families, maternity, newborns, weddings and businesses, I also photograph events, automotive projects, music and other creative work. I actually really enjoy that variety. Every type of photography brings something different. Weddings teach you to anticipate moments. Families teach you to adapt quickly. Business photography teaches you to understand a brand and what someone is trying to communicate. Then you take all of those skills and bring them into the next thing you photograph. Not every shoot goes exactly to plan, but that is usually where some of the best photographs happen anyway.

Although I am based around Maitland, I am not limited to Maitland itself. I photograph throughout Newcastle, the Hunter Valley, Port Stephens and surrounding areas, and I am happy to chat about locations further away too. Where we photograph can make a huge difference to the final images, so I like to work that out based on the session rather than choosing somewhere simply because it is popular.
